LED electronic display "dots are gorgeous, pieces are brilliant" is an image metaphor for the serious unevenness between pixels and modules. A more professional term is the dust effect and mosaic phenomenon. With the development of LED full-color display technology today, the production process and control technology have been very mature, but in fact, in the actual use of LED electronic displays, it is often difficult to avoid unevenness, which brings a very bad experience to consumers. . So what caused it?

In fact, the root causes of the unevenness are mainly: the inconsistency of LED performance parameters; the lack of assembly accuracy of LED electronic display screens in the production and installation process; the lack of consistency of electrical parameters of other electronic components; the design of modules and PCBs Irregularities etc.

Among them, the main reason for the inconsistency of LED performance parameters. The inconsistencies of these performance parameters mainly include: inconsistent light intensity, inconsistent optical axis, inconsistent color coordinates, inconsistent light intensity distribution curves of each primary color, and inconsistent attenuation characteristics.

How to solve the inconsistency of LED performance parameters, there are currently two technical approaches in the industry: one is to further subdivide LED specifications and parameters to improve the consistency of LED performance; the other is to improve the display screen through subsequent corrections. Uniformity.

The follow-up calibration has also developed from the early module calibration and module calibration to today's point-by-point calibration. The correction technology has developed from simple light intensity correction to light intensity color coordinate correction.

Subsequent correction is not a panacea. Inconsistent optical axis, inconsistent light intensity distribution curve, inconsistent attenuation characteristics, poor assembly accuracy, and irregular design cannot be eliminated by subsequent correction. Even such subsequent correction will cause optical axis, attenuation, The inconsistency in assembly accuracy is even worse.

When it comes to the relationship between the uniformity of the display screen and the definition, there is often a misunderstanding in the industry, that is, the resolution is substituted for the definition. In fact, the clarity of the display screen is the human eye's subjective perception of multiple factors such as display resolution, uniformity of signal-to-noise ratio, brightness, and contrast.

Simply shrinking the physical pixel pitch to increase resolution, while ignoring uniformity, is undoubtedly an improvement in definition. Imagine a display screen with serious dust effect and mosaic phenomenon, even if its physical pixel pitch is small, no matter how high the resolution is. It is impossible to get a good image sharpness.

Therefore, in a sense, the main reason that restricts the improvement of the clarity of the LED electronic display is the uniformity rather than the physical pixel pitch.

Therefore, manufacturers or individuals should choose the same batch of module power cable control cards as much as possible when making devices for LED electronic displays, in order to reduce the possibility of various effects of uneven display of LED electronic displays to a comparison. A low value, so that in a certain sense, a LED display with higher viewing clarity can be produced.
